All year around & especially THIS holiday season, a "working" smoke alarm can help save lives. A recent study indicated that some 71% of smoke alarm that failed to operate had missing, disconnected or dead batteries. Working smoke alarms cut the risk of dying in reported home fires in half. For the 29th year in a row, the International Association of Fire Chiefs reminds all of us to increase home safety awareness & encourages folks to replace batteries in their smoke & carbon monoxide detectors, along with all of their connected home devices, flashlights, & other critical battery-operated devices this holiday season. The International Association of Fire Chiefs represents the leadership of firefighters & emergency responders worldwide. In fact, IAFC members are the world's LEADING experts in firefighting, emergency medical services, terrorism response, hazardous materials spills, natural disasters, search & rescue, & public safety legislations. Since 1973, the IAFC has been providing a forum for its members to exchange ideas, develop professionally & undercover the latest products & services available to first responders.
