It's almost time to "ring out the old" & "ring in the new". Sometimes I think that I've had some problems in my 51 year career...how about New Years Eve back in 1992 for one of the world's premiere bands. Talk about the ups & downs in the swinging, swirling world of show business...on New Year's Eve back in 1992, the infamous Guy Lombardo & his Royal Canadians played what was perhaps its smallest New Year's concert. How small was it?! The crowd that fateful evening numbered around 100 standing outside on a SIDEWALK in Hickory, North Carolina. The band's concert at a local hall had been canceled due to poor ticket sales. It's a heady ride to the top but it's not always smooth coming down. I may spin Guy Lombardo's "Auld Lang Syne" this New Year's Eve afternoon. Happy New Year from the Puffman. Strike up the band.
