A Different KIND Of Sport
I'm blogging about a story of champions, airwaves, & a 1 day race around the world. It's J.K. George's book, "Contact Sport."Dave Sumner, CEO & secretary of the American Radio Relay League laments, "How do you describe an esoteric 24-hour competition involving thousands of people scattered all over the globe, connected only by weak, invisible waves of radio-frequency energy? J.K. George has met the challenge by tracing the paths of an intriguing cast of amateur radio operators competing in the ultimate sport for technophiles: RadioSPORT"! "Contact Sport" is up for grabs tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 7:30 on Puffman Sports Trivia. I have toiled & labored, burned the midnight oil & gone many a sleepless night this past week putting together a Puffman SPORTS Trivia question on the NFL for Saturday morning & the 1st caller in with the correct answer will WIN "Contact Sport." "RadioSPORT?" The word itself sounds ethereal, electric, & of another time & place.
