The book that we're presently reading Tuesday evenings up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby, has been described as "engrossing portrait of a forgotten American heiress & a fascinating meditation on the crosswinds of extreme wealth." I don't think that I could describe it any better & thanks to Amanda Foreman's (author of "A World On Fire) quote on the book release, I can simply copy her words. You can call me the next John Walsh! "Empty Mansions; The Mysterious Life of Huguette Clark and the Spending of a Great American Fortune" by Bill Dedman & Paul Clark Newell, Jr." is a wonderful fascinating read. The "Clark name" (W.A. Clark) is famous in Montana, especially around Butte, & Huguette Clark's copper-mining fortune was some $300 million (with a M)! The woman had more danged money than I'll make in the next 4 or 5 years combined! See you tonight at 6 o'clock SHARP for more Montana History at the Heritage.
