KSEN/K96 – Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the Week played big roles in helping their teams advance to divisional tournaments.

Our female athlete of the week poured it on when the CJI Lady Hawks needed in most in the 9C District tournament last Saturday. Head Coach, Jerry Kulpas, says with all the adversity the team has faced this year, someone had to step it up and that’s exactly what sophomore Karrin Harmon did. In the game against Northstar, to determine who would move on to divisional play, Harmon came up with a huge 23 points on seven three point shots. Kulpas says Harmon was steady throughout the tournament and has developed as a team leader on a team basically loaded with sophomores and freshman. Harmon always draws the toughest defensive assignment and is of the teams’ top two rebounders. CJI beat Northstar 49-43 to advance to the Northern C Divisional.

Also nominated for the girls’ honor this week, Conrad senior Emily Harwood who scores 22 points in the Cowgirls’ final game against Rocky Boy on Saturday.

OUR MALE ATHLETE OF THE WEEK HAD A CHAMPIONSHIP GAME PERFORMANCE THAT HAS ALMOST BECOME COMMONPLACE FOR CHOTEAU SR. DYLAN PANNABECKER.

This Choteau senior scored 23 points in the District Championship game win over the Fairfield Eagles. The points included four for eight from the free throw line and three for six from beyond the three point line. But, it wasn’t only offense, he led the team with eight rebounds, five of them on the offensive boards and also had six assists. Dylan Pannabecker is a big part of the Choteau machine that won the State B Championship last year with an undefeated 26-0 record and has run off 20 straight victories this season.

Congratulations to our KSEN/K96 – Bozeman Trophy Athletes of the week, senior Dylan Pannabecker of Choteau and sophomore Karrin Harmon of CJI. The Athlete of the Week is sponsored local by McDonald’s in Cut Bank. McDonald’s honors our athletes of the week with two free value meals each.
