I've been working on the air since 1983 doing everything from News to airshifts to Sports Play-by-Play.   I graduated from Wadsworth High School in Wadsworth, Ohio and am still a big

Indians, Browns and Buckeyes fan.   I also DJ lots of weddings, parties and events.    I attended a Jr. college in Northeastern Oklahoma in Miami, Okla. and then spent a year at Brown Institute of Broadcasting in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.  That was fun.

Athlete of the Week, now year!

It's going to be chaotic again, getting ready, but it's always worth it in the end.  I'm speaking about our Athlete of the Year Banquet which will be at the Shelby Elks Club, Wed. May 11th.   We have lined up our featured speaker for this year's event.   Mark Samson, the Head Football Coach at M-S-U Northern in Havre.  He has been coaching in Montana since 1982 and is the first Coach to take the Havre School to the N-A-I-A playoffs, back in 2006.  He has also been recruiting heavily in our area and in fact his starting Quarterback last year is one of our former Athlete's of the Year.   Derek Lear, who couldn't make it to the banquet when he was a Sr. because he was playing in the State Golf  Tournament.

By the way......any thoughts on this year's Athlete of the year?   Usually we choose someone who excels in three sports but not always.   I recall more than any Loni Perkins of Conrad whose accomplishments in Track & Field were so outstanding that she was named our Athlete of the Year.

On The Road Again, Watching Youth Sports

State Senator Lew Jones of Conrad says the governor's education funding plan is "Not Equitable"

Jones, in his weekly legislative report on KSEN said the money for what he called education funding increases would not be an increase, but would merely take $37 Million annually from 130 school districts and disperse it back to over 400 districts.
