Best Places to Take Mom on Mother’s Day in North Central Montana – Our Top Five.
I know it can be really tough to come up with a great idea for mom, so I’ve compiled this Best Places to Take Mom on Mother’s Day in North Central Montana for all our listeners (and readers) out there who are stumped or just need a little hint!
#1 The Rose Room in Pendroy
I love the Rose Room in Pendroy, it’s very quaint, there’s not much room in there, so if you’re planning to go – do make a reservation, give them a call at 406-469-2205 and let them know when you’d like to come. I have a pretty big family, so we’ll take up most of the place on Mother’s Day at noon. I love the food, love the wine, love the place. The Rose Room, a definite no-brainer for a great place to take mom on Mother’s Day.
#2 Glacier Park
The forecast for Sunday is calling for rain, but a drive up to Glacier National Park is always a good idea! I recommend going up the Going To The Sun Road for an interesting and beautiful drive, they’re plowing snow up there. It won’t be open all the way, obviously, but you can check the Road Status and see how far up you can go. Or you can check the St. Mary Webcam for current conditions. Not a lot is open this early in the Spring in St. Mary, so take along a snack or lunch!
#3 Frontier Supper Club in devon
The Frontier Supper Club is a great place to take Mom on Mother’s Day. The food is awesome! Call ahead. (406) 432-3600, to make reservations and then prepare to be dazzled! They will have a Mother’s Day Champagne brunch on Sunday from 10 – 2, featuring crab legs, roast beef, ham, cheese trays, desserts and LOTS more. Don’t miss it!
#4 The Moose lodge in conrad
The Moose Lodge in Conrad will have their annual Mother’s Day Breakfast of pancakes, eggs and ham on Sunday from 8:30 am to 12:30 pm. You have to love the Moose – defined on their website as “The Family Fraternity: An international organization of men and women, dedicated to caring for young and old, bringing communities closer together and celebrating life”. Hey – that sounds just like Mom!
#5 Lighthouse Restaurant and Lounge
Valier is a quick drive and the Lighthouse Restaurant and Lounge is definitely worth the trip. The Mother’s Day special is Seafood Pasta, you can enjoy halibut, crab, shrimp and salmon with mushrooms, onion, sweet peppers, and spinach on a bed of fettuccine covered in a white wine cream sauce with Parmesan cheese – DELICIOUS! Make sure you have a reservation – call (406) 279-3798 .
There is no shortage of best places to take mom on Mother’s Day. You could start out in Conrad for a great breakfast (for a great cause – the Moose does great things with their money), take a drive up to the park, have a picnic lunch and return to any of the other fine establishments for dinner. It’s not so much WHERE you take her on her special day, but THAT you take her, spend the day with her and remind her how important she is to you and how much you love her!
Here’s a little Mother’s Day Trivia for you – do you know what the origins of the holiday are?
According to Mother’s Day Central :
Spiritual Origin of Mothers Day
Only recently dubbed “Mother’s Day,” the highly traditional practice of honoring of Motherhood is rooted in antiquity, and past rites typically had strong symbolic and spiritual overtones; societies tended to celebrate Goddesses and symbols rather than actual Mothers. The personal, human touch to Mother’s Day is a relatively new phenomenon. The maternal objects of adoration ranged from mythological female deities to the Christian Church itself. Only in the past few centuries did celebrations of Motherhood develop a decidedly human focus.
No matter what you’re planning – have a great day and enjoy your mom!
