Brown Bagging It In The Park

The Crown of the Continent Research Learning Center over at Glacier Park will be hosting a "Brown-Bag" luncheon presentation next Wednesday, June 18th at the park's community building in West Glacier. It's all about musical composition from the inspiration of wilderness with Glacier National Park Artist-in-Resident & music composer Stephen Lias. Mr. Lias will be sharing a multimedia presentation exploring the many ways adventure, scenery, history, wildlife, & geology can be translated into music. This fellow has served as an Artist-in-Residence for several national parks including Rocky Mountain, Glacier Bay, Denali, & Gates of the Arctic. His compositions have been performed worldwide by soloists AND ensembles. The Glacier National Park Artist-in-Residence programs offers professional artists 4 weeks of focused time to creatively explore the natural & cultural resources of the park's landscape while pursuing their artistic goals. The program also allows artists the opportunity to share their work with an international audience through educational programs & exhibits. Mr. Lias is serving as Glacier National Park's Artist-in-Residence for the month of June. What an opportunity...especially for us here in north central Montana, neighbors to the park. Wednesday's presentation at the community building in West Glacier is scheduled from noon until 1 o'clock & dig this...the presentation is FREE & open to the public.
