Better yet, I'LL call the taxi. I'll be talking to the infamous driver of the mobile conveyance lounge, Peter Franklin, aka The Gabby Cabby this afternoon (Thursday) at 4:35 on my Puffman afternoon program. The temperatures are rising, not only here, but also on the east coast and air conditioners are falling out of the windows in New York City. Pete can do a mean impersonation of an air conditioner falling out of the window in Shelby compared to one falling out of the window in the Big Apple. There's also talk of turning part of Times Square into a pedestrian mall this week in the city. In talking with my longtime friend, Pete, I've found out that motorists in New York State are facing $150 fines for "opening the door of a motor vehicle on the side available to moving traffic". I suspect this fine doubles if you're struck by a falling air conditioner at the same time! I'll ask Pete. The Gab Man will also share the story of a bright young man, whose life was cut short...NOT by a falling air conditioner but, by a stray bullet. It's a tough world out there but Pete manages to make "lemonade out of lemons" most of the time and that's why we call him "The Gabby Cabby". I invite you to tune in this afternoon and you might also want to visit his wacky website at Gabby.com. (The man gives great tours also if you're ever in NY). In the meantime, I have to go. The cab is waiting out front for me.
