Be Careful
Memorial Day weekend is upon us and I would like to take this opportunity to encourage you all to drive carefully, not only this weekend but ALL the time. I know you hear it all the time...drive carefully, buckle up, etc

It's Memorial Day weekend and, of course, Memorial Day, at least to me, signifies the "official start of summer". Summer around these parts wouldn't be complete without taking a spin over to Glacier National Park
The 5th annual Spring Tea is scheduled for this Sunday afternoon, Mother's Day, at the Pondera Medical Center Extended Care in Conrad. This should prove to be a truly splendid Sunday afternoon affair with special treats, special music and special readings
Mothers Day weekend is here and there's certainly no shortage of nice things and nice places to for mom on this special Sunday here in the Golden Triangle. Celebrations of mothers and motherhood occur throughout the world, and many of these have roots going all the way back to ancient festivals, like the Greek cult to Cybele, the Roman festival of Hilaria (although I'm not sure how "hilarious" it actually was) or the Christian Mothering Sunday celebration
Libraries are something that we are all blessed with as Americans, and here in Shelby, we are most fortunate to have the services of the Toole County Library. Sometimes I like to say that the library building is "the building with the most stories in town"! And it doesn't even have an elevator! The Friends Of The Library will be holding their book sale this Thursday (5/3) at the white building, next to Hong Kong Chans
I'm returning to the Marias Heritage Center at 6 tonight (Tuesday) to read more Montana History. This evening, we'll be closing the curtain on "The Place Of Belonging" by former Montanan, former Great Falls and Conrad area resident, Jayne Pearson Faulkner
It's "National Park Week" all this week, April 21st through the 29th. All 397 of your national parks are offering FREE admission all week long. Not to copy Sarah Palin, but I can see Glacier Park from my back porch! With this coming week's record high temperatures, what a great week to drive over to Glacier, our Crown Jewel
I'll be heading up to the Marias Heritage Center tomorrow evening (Tuesday) at 6 to share more "Montana History" with some of the Heritage Center residents. First off, I want to thank Marie Ostrem for filling in for me last Tuesday evening
I blogged earlier this week about some of the Easter activities going on in the Golden Triangle and I just learned of even MORE activities this weekend to the east of us in Chester. Chester, of course, is the home of my friend on the "Old Fishing Hole", Dallas "Red Wing Boots and Bait" Denter
Here it is, Good Friday and Easter weekend has finally arrived with a little bit of "weather". Hopefully we will all take time to remember the real and true meaning of Easter. Talk about miracles! Hopefully most of us will celebrate this true miracle this weekend
GREAT FALLS, Mont.—As Easter approaches, U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) reminds international travelers not to bring any Kinder Surprise eggs into the U.S. Also known as Kinder Eggs, these chocolate treats may be cute and seasonal but they are too dangerous to children to be imported leg
