The District 1B Boys basketball tournament got underway yesterday with the Cut Bank Wolves facing the Rocky Boy Morning Stars in first-round action. The Morning Stars lead at the end of each of the first three quarters, but a 4th quarter run by the Wolves was too much and the Wolves advance to a 3:30pm Friday meeting with the Fairfield Eagles, by a score of 62/58
Since the advent of the joint girls and boys basketball season, the tournaments are extra long and start extra early. The District 1B Basketball tournament will get underway with the Boys beginning on Wednesday at 5pm from the new Conrad High School Gymnasium
KSEN 1159AM and KZIN FM K 96 will be out this weekend as we get fired up for another Friday and Saturday of girls and boys high school basketball coverage. Tonight (Friday) we'll carry the Valier at CJI games on our AM beginning at 5:45.

The ol' Puffman is a little down in the dumps today (Monday). Why? It's simple...there's no Monday night football tonight for the first Monday night since Labor Day. I was on my way down the hall to the Puffman Blog desk and our sports director, Gary Gooden, noticed the long look on my face

Our KSEN/K96 - Bozeman Trophy Athlete's of the Week from the weekend of Nov. 3rd-5th, have played big roles for their very successful teams that have moved well into the playoff rounds.
Jessica Davis, a big middle hitter for the Choteau Lady Bulldogs had a very strong Divisional Tournament in which Choteau won the Championship
Be sure to watch the Macy's parade this year, there will be two girls from the Cut Bank Wolves Cheer leading squad participating in the parade next Thursday. One of them is my daughter, who is a Junior at CBHS.
It will be Choteau and Cut Bank going to the State B Tournament from the Northern B Divisional. The State Tournament will be held at the Brick Breeden Fieldhouse on the MSU campus beginning on Thursday
KSEN/K96 FM - Bozeman Trophy Athlete of the Week choices were gut wrenching this week as a number of local athletes turned in big performances.
We'll have reports from the Northern B in Glasgow, the Northern C at North Star and the Central A in Havre. Check out the Brackets below:
This week's athletes are a well know athlete from Fairfield and a young athlete from Valier who's just getting started:
Senior Wide Receiver, Colin Allen of Fairfield is a big play maker for the Eagles. In their win over Cut Bank in the final week of the regular season Allen scored two touchdowns (about his average) and caught a BIG 74 Yard pass for a score in the game. Allen is also the extra point man for the Eagles and he got three of those. He finished the game with five catches for 180 yards.
Our female athlete of the week this week is Sophomore Hitter Stephanie BullChild of Valier. Bullchild is described by her coach as "hardworking and extremely coachable". Stephanie is a real force in the front row.
