KSEN/K96 Bozeman Trophy athletes were at the top of their game this past weekend and, in fact, have been all season long.
Our male athlete of the week has two tournament victories under his belt now and will be looking for a third at the Choteau Classic this weekend. Senior, Ben Rauscher waltzed through the Cut Bank Invitational at 170 pounds, pinning every opponent on his way to the title. He wrestled to a fourth-place finish at the prestigious CMR Holiday Classic and has now improved his record to 20 and 5. Ben has been a top wrestler throughout his high school career, making it to the state championship match at 152 as a sophomore and again as a junior at 160 pounds last year. Both of those matches came down to the wire before Rauscher lost to two other talented local wrestlers...Jared Vandenbos of Cut Bank in 2014 and Tanner Stone of Choteau last year. Wrestling at 170 pounds this year, of course, the goal is to take his season just one step further.
