There a time to be born, a time to die

The Bible says that there is a time for everything and a season for every activity under heaven. A time to be born, a time to die. Penn State football coach Joe Paterno's time came early yesterday morning (Sunday)

Meet the Lizardman

He's "the Lizardman" and he's my guest at 4:35 this afternoon (Friday) on the Puffman Show. This guy is a pioneering figure in the world of body modification. And I thought my two radio microphone tattoos were odd! The Lizardman has endured an estimated 650 to 700 hours of tattooing. He's had five Teflon horns subdermally implanted above each of his eyes to form horned ridges, four of his teeth have been filed into sharp fangs, his tongue has been bifurcated (split) and get this afternoonsiders: The Lizardman estimates the work done to transform him would, at full price, cost close to $250,000 and he's still not done!

Rebuilding his life, 1 page at a time

I just finished reading Ex-MSU coach Joe Obrien's sobering life story, "Busted Bronco: From Addition to Redemption" and it truly was a page turner. I think I read it in two days and it actually is "one of those books you don't WANT to put down. Joe is going to join me on the Puffman Show this Friday afternoon at 4:35 and I'm more than anxious to have him on my program. Joe's the guy, who while coaching at MSU back in 2001, was arrested down in Townsend, charged with operating a ring bringing meth into Bozeman, and spending over two years in the federal slammer.

What does the name Puffer really mean?

I guess I'll find out this afternoon (Tuesday) at 4:35 when Sharo`n Lynn Wyeth is one of my afternoon guests. Ms Wyeth is a "name expert" and well she should be. She's been researching names for some 15 years and then field-testing the results in over 70 countries prior to her writing her bestselling book, "Know the Name: Know the Person"

Legendary football coach to be discussed on Puffman Show

Most of you know that my middle name is "sports" and I'll be adding to that legend this afternoon (Friday) at 4:35PM when I talk with John Greenburg. Greenburg probably knows as much or more about sports as I do as he already written several book on legendary college football teams and hall of fame coaches

I always wondered about those Wal-Mart greeters

I've always been curious about those "Wal-Mart Greeters". I mean, who are they, where do they come from, did they used to work, why would ANYONE in their right mind want to stand at the front doors and greet the "Walmartians" as they enter the store. Believe me, I've seen my share of "Walmartians" on e-mail "forwards" and it's looks like a pretty strange neighborhood to me. Last evening, I was reading Montana History at the Heritage Center here in Shelby.

Billings Big Sky All-Stars win Semi-Final Game

This evening, around the state of Montana, I'm guessing there were quite a few families doing exactly what my family was doing...  Sitting around the TV watching some teenagers from Billings play in one of the biggest games of their young lives

Author Josh Kelly Visits Shelby to Talk Jack Dempsey

Back in 1921, not long after oil had started gushing from our northern Montana fields, real estate sales here in Shelby were declining, dimming our little town's prospects of becoming the "Tulsa of the West." Then the mayor's son dreamed up a marketing ploy: offer to host heavyweight champion Jack Dempsey's next fight.

What began as a publicity stunt soon spiraled into a civic drama unlike any Montana had ever seen, or would ever again.

Tiger Woods Named World’s Highest-Paid Athlete

Sure, he's struggled recently on the links, lost endorsement deals and gone through a divorce, but not even all that can stop Tiger Woods from raking in the cash.

Will Phil Jackson Coach the Knicks in 2012?

On Sunday, coach Phil Jackson made it clear he had every intention of retiring following the Lakers' devastating playoff defeat to the Dallas Mavericks.

"In all my hopes and aspirations," he said, "this is the final game that I'll coach."

Of course, Jackson has cried wolf before, so it should come as no surprise that he's considering taking over the New York Knicks in 2012.
