It’s “Strikingly True”

"Strikingly True"! That's the title of the latest book from Ripley's Believe It or Not and I'll be giving away a brand new hard cover coffee table version of the book this afternoon (Monday) on the Puffman Show at 4:35 right after I interview Edward Meyer from Ripleys. Edward's the VP of Exhibits & Archives and he's one of my favorite guests to in

Jane Lynch’s 2011 Emmys Opening Number [VIDEO]

Jane Lynch opened the 63rd Emmy Awards with a song and dance number that took the audience through the world of television, reimagined as an inner-city apartment building housing all the top TV shows.

Lynch walked through scenes of hit series like ‘Mad Men‘ (where she was asked to leave the room when she informed Don Draper that in 50 years people would be fast-forwarding through commercials) and ‘The Big Bang Theory’ (where she learned that not all jokes merit canned laughter).

2011 Emmy Awards Red Carpet Gallery

The stars of the small screen turned out for the 2011 Emmy Awards in Los Angeles Sunday evening, dressed to the nines for television’s big night. Taking a cue from the carpet’s hue, starlets like Lea Michele (‘Glee’), Nina Dobrev (‘The Vampire Diaries’) and Kate Winslet (‘Mildred Pierce’) showed up in red gowns and trains were in too, with actresses including Kristen Wiig (‘Saturday Night Live’), Christina Hendricks (‘Mad Men’) and Cobie Smulders (‘How I Met Your Mother’) sporting floor-sweeping hemlines.

Emmy Awards 2011 Preview – Best Comedy Series

With three nominated shows, NBC leads the pack for this category. Our money's on ABC, though, for a repeat from last year's winner 'Modern Family,' but NBC's critical darling 'Parks and Recreation' could pull an upset. Here are all the nominees:

When I Fall In Love

Who doesn't remember the first time they heard that tune by the Lettermen. Or how about "The Way You Look Tonight" or "Come Back Silly Girl". Like a lot of you, I grew up with these guys. In fact, they did a show at my high school back in the early 60's. (I started 1st grade when I was two, I'm not really this old! The Lettermen are celebrating over 49 years in the music industry and this afternoon (Tuesday), Tony Butala, original and founding member of the group, will be joining me on the Puffman Show.

Thoughts of this weekend

With this Sunday marking the 10th anniversary of perhaps the worst tragedy our country has ever experienced, I thought I would put in a call to my friend Peter Franklin, better known as the Gabby Cabby, that wacky New York City cab driver who's been a frequent guest on the Puffman Show for the past 13 years here in Shelby and before that, probably 10 years when I was working on the East Coast

Time to fly Old Glory

This coming Sunday, September 11th, we are all being encouraged to display an American flag outside our homes, apartments, offices, and stores. I believe that all of us should make it our duty this Sunday to display Old Glory on this 10th anniversary of one of this country's worst tragedies. I found myself watching some "clips" last evening on CNN and living it all over again.

Where were you on 9/11?

I'm really looking forward to my special guest tomorrow (Friday) afternoon at 4:35 on the Puffman Show. She's Janette Reynolds from the Flathead Valley. Janette was born and raised in the Motor City (not to be confused with Car Town) and spent the first part of her career entrenched in the competitive world of automotive engineering

Jimmy Fallon’s ‘Do Not Read List’ for This School Year [VIDEO]

School reading lists are typically laden with staid classics that no one really wants to read. But nevermind all that. ‘Late Night’ host Jimmy Fallon presented his “Do Not Read List” for the 2011-2012 school year that sounds a lot more enticing.

‘Understanding 9/11′ Features Complete, Archived News Broadcasts From Around the World

Many television networks will no longer air the most devastating moments of the September 11, 2001 attacks on the World Trade Center, lest it upset the families of the thousands of people who lost their lives that day.

But Understanding 9/11: A Television News Archive feels that that footage is essential as a “resource for scholars, journalists, and the public,” and has archived 3,000 hours of it, along with timelines and scholarly analysis.
