Vacationing IT Consultant Unknowingly Live Tweets bin Laden’s Death

Sohaib Athar was vacationing in the mountains outside of Abbottabad, Pakistan, late Sunday night when he heard the sounds of helicopters closing in.

The IT consultant had his laptop with him, so he began live-tweeting what we now know were U.S. special forces descending upon Osama bin Laden's hideout.

"Uh oh, now I'm the guy who liveblogged the Osama raid without knowing it," Athar concluded after realizing what he had done. Read on to see highlights from Athar's tweets, detailing this historic event.

The Royal Wedding What Are the Odds….

It's well known that Brits will bet on anything, and with less than 24 hours until the wedding, there is no shortage of ways to lose a few quid. Bookies are taking wagers on the color of Kate Middleton's dress (odds-on it'll be white), whether the marriage will survive 10 years (happily, the money says "yes"), and whether the bride's vows will include a promise to obey (don't bet on it).

Here are some of the truly silly bets being honored by bookmakers:

I don't usually blog about politics and/or my political views. For one thing, we get enough of that on the mainstream media and besides, I believe I am right and correct in my views and as long as I'm happy believing what I believe, all's well

Teacher Tapes Chatty Student’s Mouth Shut [VIDEO]

A local Florida teacher took discipline to a whole new (read: bizarre) level last week when she reportedly taped her chatty student's mouth shut with packing tape.

13-year-old seventh grader Jazlyn Freel claims the incident took place during a routine science class.

"She asked me to stop talking, and then a couple minutes went by, and I started to talk again, and she came to me and put it on my mouth," she said. "I had to cough, so I took the first piece off, so she went into her desk, and she took another piece out, and she put it on my mouth again."

Beware Tsunami Aid Scams!

This from the Associated Press:

"UNDATED (AP) - Scammers already are trying to take advantage of the outpouring of compassion  following Japan's earthquake and tsunami disaster. Let it be a warning for the charity-minded to be on the lookout for phony aid appeals. Foldable, Electric-Powered Bicycles Just Might Be the Wave of the Future [VIDEO]

If you've got $3,600 to spare and don't mind folks gawking at you from behind the wheel, it might be time to invest in a "YikeBike." Conceived as a faster and lighter alternative to the Segway, the YikeBike is a foldable electric bicycle that was ranked by Time Magazine as one of the best inventions of 2009.

It looks kind of like a unicycle with a training wheel, but its inventors say it could change the way we get around. What do you think — wacky invention or wave of the future? CNN's full video story on the YikeBike is after the jump.
