Chester Celebrates the End of Christmas Season

Liberty County residents are invited to a "Burning of the Greens" party this Saturday (Jan 12) from 10am-1pm at the town's ice rink. The event begins with a bonfire of discarded Christmas trees...bring your tree to the southeast corner of the skating rink, across from the town offices. While the trees burn, you can enjoy hot dogs and hot chocolate, and ice skating. The event is sponsored by the Chester Alliance Church.

Don't have skates? On Friday (Jan 11) there will be a skate exchange at 2:30 at the CJI school multi-purpose room. Donations of used skates are also welcome.
