Commission Candidate proposes part-time

 

            (CONRAD) – PONDERA COUNTY CLERK & RECORDER JANICE HOPPES, WHO IS NOW A REPUBLICAN CANDIDATE FOR COUNTY COMMISSIONER SAYS SHE BELIEVES THE WORKLOAD IN THE COMMISSIONER’S OFFICE COULD BE HANDLED ON A PART-TIME BASIS.

            “I want to research it, I want to consider that, to reduce the position to a part-time position with part-time compensation.”  HOPPES ALSO SAID THAT SHE WOULD LIKE TO SEE THE SAVINGS USED TO PAY OFF DEBT THAT THE COUNTY HAS INCURRED, BUILDING THE PONDERA CENTER, A NEW COMMUNITY CENTER IN CONRAD, AND OTHER LOANS.

HOPPES ESTIMATED THE SAVINGS WOULD AMOUNT TO

30-THOUSAND ANNUALLY FROM JUST SALARY.     SHE ALSO  SAID IN AN INTERVIEW WITH KSEN MONDAY MORNING THAT SHE WOULD  LIKE TO SEE AT LEAST ONE COMMISSIONER IN THE OFFICE AT ALL TIMES DURING OFFICE HOURS.

            HOPPES HAS BEEN THE CLERK & RECORDER IN PONDERA COUNTY FOR 17 YEARS
