Here are a few of the events planned for the Conrad Whoop Up Days and Rhubarb Festival scheduled to begin on June 2nd.   Check out the Chamber Website for all the information.  We have information on the parades, ( yes, KSEN will be there)  after the jump:

2011 Whoop Up Children's Parade

Saturday, June 4, 9:30 a.m.

WANTED:

Kids that want to have a lot of fun!  No application or prior experience necessary.

The parade ASSEMBLES at 9 a.m., just west of Meadowlark School.

Entries are eligible in one of the following divisions: 1. Best Costume 2. Best Pet 3. Best entry on wheels (non-bikes) 4. Best Bike

Judging beginsat  9 a.m.

Ribbons will be awarded in each division.  ALL get a participation ribbon!

Route: Head south on Main Street, turn west onto Seventh Ave, and continue to Swimming Pool Park.  TREATS ARE PROVIDED AFTERWARD AT THE SWIMMING POOL PARKING LOT!

2011 Whoop Up Parade

Saturday, June 4 10:30 a.m.

WANTED:

A multitude of floats, horses, clowns, bands, novelties, farm equipment, machinery, cars, and anyone else who wants to show their stuff!

Parade Assembly locations:

Floats and Groups: East county road along the baseball fields.

Bands, Marching Groups, Drill Teams, and Clowns: Legion Park

Cars: Michigan and 7th Ave.

Horses and Driving Rigs: Iowa and 8th Ave. (Letion Ball Field parking lot)

Judging begins at 9:30! Winners, please display ribbons during parade.

Entries are eligible in one class:

1. Float Division includes community, organizational, commercial, and business groups judged on 1. materials, props, and people used to convey a theme, or 2. costuming and decorations.  Ribbons awarded: 1-6th Place.

2. Horse & Buggy Division includes 1. adult riders, 2. children riders, 3. driving rig.  Judged on horsemanship, general conformation & manners, costume & equipment.  Ribbons awarded: Grand Prize Rosettes for each class.

Route: Parade begins at 10:30 a.m!

Assembles at the Baseball Complex, heads east on Seventh Ave. S., north on Main, west on Second Ave. S., proceeds to Sunset Boulevard past PMC, and disbands from there.  The route has been established to accomodate residents of Horizon Lodge and Pondera Medical Center extended care.
