Cut Bank and Conrad Boys and Survive First Round(Brackets HERE)
The District 1B Boys basketball tournament got underway yesterday with the Cut Bank Wolves facing the Rocky Boy Morning Stars in first-round action. The Morning Stars lead at the end of each of the first three quarters, but a 4th quarter run by the Wolves was too much and the Wolves advance to a 3:30pm Friday meeting with the Fairfield Eagles, by a score of 62/58. Rocky Boy will face the loser of the Conrad/Choteau game on Saturday at 12:30.
Game #2 pitted the Conrad Cowboys against the Shelby Coyotes. The Cowboys led by 17 at the end of the first quarter, but Shelby hung around to the very end of the game. Conrad ultimately won the game, 47/36 to advance to a match-up with Choteau on Friday at6:30. Shelby will meet the loser of the Fairfield/Cut Bank game on Saturday at 9:30am.
