We survived another day in the city, but I think we're all getting tired.  Saturday was an exciting day, we successfully navigated more buses and subways and even Grand Central Station and the Metro North to visit the New York Botanical Garden.  It was lovely, all decorated for Christmas.  We used it as an opportunity to take our Christmas card photo:

Grand Central Station was home to a large Holiday fair full of all sorts of things to buy and eat.

Then we moved on back into the city to visit Canal Street and buy a knockoff purse or two.  The area was crowed with shoppers and vendors.

We had a canolli in Litte Italy and then headed back to Manhattan to get a dog for dinner.  We had a recommendation from a relative to check out Crif Dogs, so that was our spot for dinner.  After dinner, the return trip to Queens and a little dessert.

We have discovered that if you can catch a bus, most of them go to subway stations, then you can catch a train. If the train isn't going where you wanted to go - just catch it to another station that has the connection you need.  This discovery has made navigating the city a lot less stressful, although not a lot faster.

We're off to Coney Island, Staten Island and the Statue of Liberty for our  Sunday.  I'll be back to let you know how that works out.
