We visited Coney Island and Brighton Beach on the subway today. It was a pretty long trip, but we pulled it off without incident and the trip was worth it.  We spent a few minutes walking on the beach and the boardwalk, then had lunch at the original Nathans.

The beach was beautiful and not at all crowded (could be because it is November).

After the beach, we walked over the Brooklyn Bridge.  Wow, what an amazing engineering feat!

The very best sight of the day, by far, was the one we saw from the Staten Island Ferry.  It was a free, fast, ferry, we went just at sunset and the Lady was looking her best

Once on Staten Island, we took a short bus trip to a local Pizzeria and had garlic knots and a slice.  Both were DELICIOUS.  We also got a great look at the local Christmas displays from the bus.  It was a lovely evening in a new city.  Even navigating the subway/buses home wasn't a problem.

We saw the charging bull at Bowing Green Park as a side bonus!

Monday, we plan to visit the 911 Memorial and see the Radio City Christmas Spectacular at Radio City Music Hall and check out the Christmas displays on 5th Avenue.

Tuesday, we'll make the return trip home and back to work and reality.  It has been a really great trip though!
