(CUT BANK) – IT DID CHANGE THE OUTCOME IN THE GLACIER COUNTY COMMISSIONERS RACE.   THE CLERK AND RECORDER’S OFFICE TODAY (Wed.) COUNTED 131 PROVISIONAL BALLOTS AND ADDED THE TOTALS TO THE UNOFFICIAL COUNT FROM LAST TUESDAY’S PRIMARY AND AS EXPECTED IT DID CHANGE THE WINNER IN THE DEMOCRATIC GLACIER COUNTY COMMISSION RACE.

WITH THE PROVISIONAL BALLOTS COUNTED INCUMBENT MICHAEL DESROSIER DEFEATED CHALLENGER JAMIE EVANS BY JUST 3 VOTES, 1192 TO 1189.    IN THE PRIMARY COUNT EVANS HAD DEFEATED DESROSIER BY 42 VOTES.

GLACIER COUNTY CLERK AND RECORDER GLENDA HALLS SAYS THE MARGIN OF DIFFERENCE IN THE VOTE DOES FALL WITHIN THE GUIDELINES OF A RECOUNT.    CANDIDATES HAVE 5 DAYS FOLLOWING THE OFFICIAL CANVASS OF THE VOTE TO REQUEST THE RECOUNT.     THE OFFICIAL CANVASS, HALL SAYS, WILL TAKE PLACE NEXT MONDAY, SO IT’S STILL UNCLEAR EXACTLY WHEN AND IF A RECOUNT WILL TAKE PLACE.

THE PROVISIONAL COUNT DIDN’T CHANGE ANY OTHER FINAL RESULTS IN THE ELECTION.
