Going-to-the-Sun Road: Still Open from St. Mary’s to Logan Pass

Update from GNP July 18, 2012:

The Going-to-the-Sun Road - between Avalanche Creek and Logan Pass- is anticipated to be closed today and possibly some tomorrow due to the mud and rock slides that happened late yesterday afternoon.  There were approximately 12 slide locations between the Loop and Triple Arches.  Almost 150 vehicles were in the area of the slides, with only one vehicle sustaining damage that needed a tow truck to move the vehicle.  The occupants of that vehicle had minor injuries that were attended to at the scene.
