This first of October weekend is a great weekend in which to work up a hunger in the Golden Triangle. Harvest fests abound with the Brady United Methodist Church holding their fall dinner tomorrow (Saturday) night from 5 to 7 at the Brady Community Hall. I wonder if the infamous Gary Gollohon will be there chowing down! The Conrad Harvest Festival is officially underway tonight (Friday) with a Harvest Dance at Norley Hall in Conrad. It's sponsored by the Pondera History Association and my friends, Up North will provide the music and entertainment from 8 to midnight. Go Mitch! It's Comedy Night at the Pondera Golf Club from 7 to 9 this evening and Claude Stuart will make you kick the slats out of your cradle! Get a load of this character! There's a Crop Walk tomorrow out at Legion Park/Conrad and the Harvest Parade their gets underway at high noon. There will be a motor show on main street tomorrow afternoon and ol' Wylie Gustafson of Wylie & the Wild West will entertain from 12:30 to 4. There's all the other things too that make up a great Conrad Harvest Fest with a pie making contest, a chili cook-off, a kiss n' squeal pig kissing contest, rubber duckie races in the canal and the Spokane Melody Singers will be making a 7 o'clock appearance at Conrad's beautiful Orpheum Theatre. Over in Cut Bank, the Rockies Healthcare Foundation is presenting their 2nd annual Oktoberfest featuring Tommy Rocker live from Las Vegas! The show opens tomorrow (Saturday) night at the Cut Bank Civic Center with a no host bar at 5:30, bratwurst & burgers at 6, and Mr. Rocker at 7. There will be a live & silent auction also. Speaking of Cut Bank, St. Paul's Lutheran Church will be having their German dinner and bazaar from 1 until 4 Sunday afternoon. Up north, the Lutheran Church in Sunburst will hold their harvest dinner and bazaar Sunday afternoon from noon until 3. It looks like a beautiful fall weekend weather wise, so why not get out and take in a couple of these fun events. It's another neat part about living in the Last Best Place!
