Each Friday during the summer, the Glacier National Park Fund invites local residents and visitors to hike one of Glacier's many trails. This Friday - June 22nd- you'll be hiking the Huckleberry Lookout trail. The trail is 12 miles long and is rated as "moderate", and mostly uphill to the Huckleberry Fire Lookout. You'll be rewarded with spectacular views of Glacier National Park.

This hiking club is a social outing with the goals of getting some exercise on the trail, hiking with friends and making new ones as well as sharing what GNPF has been able to accomplish in Glacier National Park. We are not "leading" the group and will not provide any formal interpretation along the trail but fun is guaranteed! If you would like to join us please call for details and to register at 406-892-3250 or email glacierfund@glacierfund.org. Carpool options from our office in Columbia Falls may be available.  Weather conditions in Glacier are often unpredictable and can change rapidly no matter what time of year - so please be prepared for any type of weather. We will hike regardless of weather - rain or shine. We suggest that you bring a backpack, two liters of water, snacks and a sack lunch, hat, rain gear, sunglasses, sunscreen and whatever else you might need. We strongly encourage hikers to bring bear spray. GNPF has bear spray available to borrow for the day upon signing a waiver. Most hikes will meet between 8-9 AM and will take most of the day (call for specific times).
