It won't be long now & I'm ready for another season of our "Old Fishing Hole" program here on KSEN AM & K 96 FM. It will be great to touch base...or should I say "poles" again this year with Bruce Auchly from Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks. Bruce is always an informative guest & a real pleasure to work with on the Old Fishing Hole. His reports are top notch! I had a chance to visit with Bruce earlier today (Friday) & Bruce told me that Fish, Wildlife & Parks will be holding a public information meeting next week concerning the Marias River Wildlife Management Area south of Shelby. The meeting is scheduled for 6PM on Tuesday, March 12th at the Marias River Electric Co-Op meeting room on Roosevelt Highway here in Shelby. It's been approximately 5 years since FWP purchased the WMA. Tuesday night's meeting is an update on progress towards the objectives FWP developed when purchasing the WMA & an opportunity for feedback on potential effects & to answer questions regarding management of the WMA. According to Auchly, FWP representatives will be on hand Tuesday evening to provide a brief history of the WMA, & to discuss current issues & concerns facing the WMA & future direction. Tuesday evening's meeting at Marias Electric is free & open to the public. I hope they have the coffee pot on! See you Tuesday evening at 6.
