It's a great night to read and the book's "A Great Day To Fight Fire" and I'll be reading more of Mark Matthews' page turner tonight at 6 at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. I read Montana history every Tuesday evening and I feel that the residents up at the Heritage who come to my reading group, are enjoying this story about the famous Mann Gulch 1949 blaze as much as I am.  The fire took the life of 13 of the 16 Montana fire fighters on the scene near Helena back in '49. Andrew Gulliford, the editor of Preserving Western History, says "there is no way that one can read this book without feeling a sense of tragic loss". I think that sums it all for all of us enjoying this book these Tuesday evenings at the Heritage Center. See you tonight at six.
