It’s Real Montana History

I’ll be up at the Marias Heritage Center tonight (Tuesday) at 6 to read more “Montana History”. We do it every Tuesday evening at the Heritage Center from 6 until 7 o’clock. At present, we are about a third of the way through “Penny Post Cards and Prairie Flowers” penned by Montana author Philip J. Burgess. Burgess was a guest this past spring at the Montana Storytellers in Cut Bank. He lives in Missoula where he spends most of his time telling stories, daydreaming, & writing-& making frequent road trips back to his native hills in eastern Montana, where he has yet to fall off a horse! Burgess also has a book of poetry out entitled “Badlands Child” & a CD of stories & poetry entitled “Badlands Requiem”. Check them out at: BadlandsRequiem.com. Like my here Bob Dylan, the man is a storyteller AND a poet. I’m not sure if Burgess can sing however. For that matter, I’m not all that certain Dylan can sing either! Burgess must be a pretty good guy…the dedication to his book we’re reading at the Heritage reads: “To my mother, Helen, & my great-aunt Dikka, who always did the best they could with what they had”. You have to love a guy like that! See you tonight at 6 at the Marias Heritage Center for more “Montana History”.
