John Mayer Helps Paint Louisiana Veteran’s House

While John Mayer may be waiting on the world to change, he took some changes into his own hands on Wednesday, stopping on his way to the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival to help paint the home of a Louisiana Army veteran.

The Grammy-winning artist joined up with the Fuller Center of Housing of Northwest Louisiana, which is building homes for local veterans, KVKI reported.

“The funding for this project came through Bob Woodward foundation,” said Lee Jeter with the Fuller Center.  He said Mayer got involved because of Roger Waters’ connection to the project.

Mayer was seen working a paintbrush with the group on Wednesday, as finishing touches were put on a home for Cliff Malone.

“I’m going to tell people I know you,” Malone told Mayer.

Mayer is taking part in the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival this weekend along with Billy Joel, Fleetwood Mac, Maroon 5, The Black Keys, B.B. King, Frank Ocean and Willie Nelson.
