Jon Anderson Has No Plans To Rejoin Yes via Facebook

The unexpected departure of Yes vocalist Benoit David brought rumors that original vocalist Jon Anderson might return to the group. Anderson himself stepped forward to squash those rumors with an official statement.

Calling the rumors “unfounded and false,” the press release says that Anderson, who is currently on tour, is busy with his solo career and recording new music.

Recent interviews with Yes co-founder Chris Squire suggested that he was in regular contact with Anderson, something that Jon also debunked in his statement.

“I haven’t spoken with Chris in four years, and the only e-mail I have received from him in the last 3 years was him asking for free tickets to my show in Mesa, AZ last week – very sad, but true.”

Since splitting from Yes in 2008, Anderson has been musically prolific and recently announced a new live release, recorded while touring with fellow former Yes mate Rick Wakeman.

Yes have announced that Glass Hammer vocalist Jon Davison will replace Benoit David for their scheduled upcoming tour dates.
