Kiss ‘Two Days’ From Finishing New Album ‘Monster’

Kiss are very close to finishing their next studio album, which they previously announced will be called ‘Monster.’ According to Paul Stanley, the band are “two days from finished with this album.”

So what does the Starchild himself have to say about the band’s 20th platter? “It’s awesome… by far the best thing we’ve done in I don’t know how long. Have I said that before? Yeah. Was I right? Yeah! I’m right this time again!”

The album is being wrapped up at The Nook, in Hollywood, Calif. with producer Greg Collins, who worked with the band on 2009′s ‘Sonic Boom.’ Stanley is co-producing ‘Monster,’ which is due for a spring release.

Early reports are that rock legends (who, we might add, are still persona non grata to The Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame for some unbelievable reason) have consciously gone back to try and capture the vibe of their ’70s prime but with a heavier sound, even recording with analogue equipment. “The actual recording process was 24-track tape and an old Trident board,” said Gene Simmons in a recent interview, adding that “Analog is the love of your life. You can push real hard and it always gives back.”

Guitarist Tommy Thayer tosses in his two cents by promising, “You’re gonna be as excited as we are cause we’re really excited, and we’re not just saying that… this is great stuff…it’s amazing!” So there ya go Kiss fans! Let’s give Mr. Stanley the final word: “Truly, the album kicks major ass and we’re very very proud of it.”
