Bozeman trophy athletes of the week were Instrumental in advancing their teams to the playoffs in one case and towards the playoffs in another. Our male athlete of the week has been nominated twice previously this year with outstanding games on a weekly basis. This week, senior Jackson Nagy of the North Toole County Refiners pulled off the game clinching play that puts the Refiners in the post season playoffs. It was Nagy’s second interception of the day and he recorded 15 tackles on the day along with four receptions for 50 yards, one touchdown and one extra point reception on offense. Nagy has had numerous games through-out the season with multiple scoring stats, including a five touchdown day against Big Sandy.

Female athlete of the week honors go to longtime three sport standout Mariah Stoltz of Valier.   In volleyball matches last week, Stoltz led the Lady Panthers to two key conference victories over Sunburst and Dutton/Brady. In the Sunburst match she had five of the six team blocks and nine of the teams 21 kills. It got even better in the Dutton/Brady match where she recorded two of the teams’ three blocks, 12 of 29 kills and 10 of 34 digs.   (Stoltz knows nothing but full go –100% always) The two victories, coupled with a Simms/Augusta and one loss to sunburst, vaulted Valier into the number one spot in the 6C West conference with a 7-1 record.
