Logan Pass Access Anticipated this Weekend
WEST GLACIER, MONT. – The entire Going-to-the-Sun Road in Glacier National Park is anticipated to be open to vehicle travel by this weekend, allowing access to Logan Pass. While most snow removal efforts are being completed and snow above the road is being monitored and removed, road crews continue to sweep debris from the Going-to-the-Sun Road, install removable guard rails and road signage, and prepare the Logan Pass Visitor Center and area for opening.
Glacier National Park Superintendent Jeff Mow said, “Opening the Going-to-the-Sun Road is a priority, and many employees are helping to make that happen.” Trail and campground crews began assisting over the weekend to help remove snow by hand in the Logan Pass Visitor Center area. They continue to shovel snow, clean around facilities, and remove debris. Water testing is being completed, and facilities such as restrooms and the visitor center are being cleaned.
