The Marshall Tucker Band is gearing up for yet another music next year. The Rock Legends Cruise II will feature four days of music and entertainment, which is the kind of party these southern rockers are all about!

“There’s a lot of cruises out there, and I’m glad there is because it gives everybody a different venue of togetherness,” Marshall Tucker Band’s Doug Gray tells Ultimate Classic Rock. “It sounds old hippie style, but that’s what it is. People can’t jump ship that way [laughs]! If they’re there, it’s kind of a collective audience and we have that opportunity to do that.”

The ship will sail out of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on evening of Thursday, Jan. 10, 2013 and make its first stop in Labadee, Haiti on Saturday, Jan. 12. The ship will once again return to the port in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. on the morning of Monday, Jan. 14.

Packages for the cruise start at $549 and will include all shipboard accommodations, ocean transportation, three meals a day (including complimentary 24-hour room service), some beverages, concert admissions and most on-board entertainment. In addition to all the concerts, the cruise will also feature on-board surfing, a boxing ring, a full-sized volleyball/basketball court, cantilevered whirlpools and a range of gourmet restaurants.

“Right now, there’s about 20 bands on there,” Gray continues. “Us, Foreigner, 38 Special, Molly Hatchet and different groups like that … a bunch of southern bands, but also a bunch of classic bands. It’s going to make for a good ship. I think people are going to get something like 50 performances total in four days. It will be a great time. I think the boat is already half way sold out. We’re just glad to be a part of it.”

The 2013 Rock Legends Cruise II is also scheduled to have Creedence Clearwater Revisited, Paul Rodgers, Bachman and Turner, Blue Oyster Cult, Foghat, Kentucky HeadHunters, Pat Travers, the Artimus Pyle Band, Black Oak Arkansas, Royal Southern Brotherhood, Devon Allman’s Honeytribe, SwampDaWamp and Whiskey Myers. Additional artists, including the highly-anticipated headliner, will be announced in the coming weeks.
