That's what we'll do tonight (Tuesday) during "Montana History" at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. We'll be continuing the outstanding "Montana History" book, "Girl from the Gulches: The Story of Mary Ronan" as told to Margaret Ronan & edited by Ellen Baumler, the Interpretive Historian at the Montana Historical Society down in Helena. This detailed memoir recalls young Mary Ronan's journey across the Great Plains & her childhood on the Montana mining frontiers along with her life on the Flathead Indian Reservation as the wife of an Indian agent. All these adventures are described with vivid clarity, ably edited & annotated. "Girl from the Gulches; The Story of Mary Ronan" offers a unique perspective that is a joy to read. You don't have to tell me...I've being reading it aloud up at the Heritage Center during our Tuesday evening "Montana History". See you tonight at 6 at the Marias Heritage Center.
