Montana Indian Language Preservation

GREAT FALLS, Mont. (AP) — The Montana Legislature has allocated $2 million to help the state's Indian tribes keep their languages alive. Montana's Indian tribes have until Sept. 30 to apply for funding from the Montana Indian Language Preservation Pilot Program. The Great Falls Tribune reports the legislation allows tribes to use the money to create audio and video recordings, dictionaries and other reference materials.
