Mountain Lion

Wednesday night, around 9:30 pm, a cow on the Benjamin road, across from the feedlot,  was attacked by what appeared to be a mountain lion, according to the Toole County Sheriff's office. The cow was moved inside and Montana FWP was notified. Officals were hopeful that the cat would still be in the area Thursday morning.

FWP employees came to the area, with a hound dog to search for the big cat. Their search efforts were unsuccessful and the mountain lion was not located.

It is unknown whether the cat is still in the area and authorities are encouraging caution in that area.
