Male strippers, heartwarming family fare, talking teddy bears and men in drag. No, that’s not the set-up for a joke — those are what you’ll see in the four new movies that hit theaters this weekend.

Set in the world of male strippers, ‘Magic Mike’ is the tale of an experienced dancer who takes a newbie under his wing and schools him in the fine arts of partying, picking up women and making easy money. And just in case you didn’t know this by now, it’s based off of Channing Tatum’s previous career as a stripper.

In ‘People Like Us,’ a man named Sam discovers a long-lost sister after his father’s death, and as the pair get to know each other, Sam must re-examine both his perceptions about his family and his own life choices.

‘Ted,’ helmed by ‘Family Guy’ mastermind Seth MacFarlane, tells the story of a grown man who must deal with the cherished teddy bear who came to life as the result of a childhood wish — and has refused to leave his side ever since.

And in ‘Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Witness Protection,’ after a man learns that his company has been operating a mob-backed Ponzi scheme and that he’s been set up as the fall guy, he and his family go into hiding at his Aunt Madea’s house.

Here’s a sneak peek.
