After the first few days featured heavy activity, NFL teams signed free agents at a slower pace this weekend. Former Miami Dolphins tackle Jake Long agreed to a four-year, $34 million deal with the St. Louis Rams late Sunday, while former Green Bay Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings inked a five-year contract with the Minnesota Vikings on Friday. Long and Jennings were among the most sought-after offensive players in the free agent pool.

Though the Dolphins lost Long, they did sign former Rams’ wide receiver Brandon Gibson to a three-year contract and former New York Jets tight end Dustin Keller to a one-year deal. Gibson and Keller join newly signed Mike Wallace and Brian Hartline as targets for Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

The New England Patriots rebuilt their secondary, signing former Arizona Cardinals’ safety Adrian Wilson to a three-year contract on Friday and re-signing cornerback Aqib Talib to a one-year, $5 million deal on Saturday. However, the Patriots lost running back Danny Woodhead to a two-year contract with the San Diego Chargers. New England also released receiver Brandon Lloyd on Saturday.

In other news, defensive end Elvis Dumervil was released on Friday by the Denver Broncos after a fax from his agent, Marty Magid, did not meet a deadline, causing the team to take a $13.6 million salary cap hit. A sack specialist, Dumervil immediately became one of the most intriguing free agents on the market. He fired Magid after the fax fiasco.

The Cardinals released quarterback Kevin Kolb on Friday. He had yet to agree to terms with a new team on Monday afternoon.
