The date was August 25, 1931. FIVE men DIED fighting the devastating Waldron Creek Fire west of Choteau. When it was all over, 3 men were buried in unmarked graves. 1 body was returned to his family but no burial site is known. Only 1 had a headstone. It's all in the book that we'll continue reading this evening during Montana History up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby.
