Randy Gramm was my "Sports" Trivia Winner this morning (Saturday) on the Puffman Show. Randy was the 1st caller with the correct answer of "Don Larsen". October 8th, back in 1965, Larsen pitched the only perfect game in a World Series to date as the New York Yankees beat the Brooklyn Dodgers in Game 5, 2-0. Randy won a great new book, "Empires, Nations, & Families-A New History of the North American West, 1800-1860". This 600 plus page hardback from HarperCollins was just released last Tuesday. The author is Anne Hyde & Ms Hyde knows of what she speaks. She's the William R. Hochman Professor of History at Colorado College. She's also the author of "An American Vision: Far Western Landscape and National Culture" and co-author, with William Deverell of "The West in the History of the Nation". As the late newspaper man Horace Greeley said, "Go West, Young Man". Heck, I'm already here! And Randy Gramm, CONGRATULATIONS! You're our Saturday Morning Sports Trivia Winner.
