‘Rock of Ages’ Trailer Has Tom Cruise Belting Out Bon Jovi

New Line Cinema

Based strictly on cast, the musical ‘Rock of Ages’ is a sure-fire hit. It has Tom Cruise, Alec Baldwin, Russell Brand, Julianne Hough, Paul Giamatti, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Mary J. Blige. It also stars a monkey named “Hey, Man,” who may well upstage them all.

In the movie, Cruise plays the jaded hair-metal God Stacee Jaxx. While Jaxx showed up in the film’s first trailer, which came out late last year, he wasn’t singing. In the latest trailer, we get to hear Cruise’s pipes.

‘Stacee Jax, he gives until it hurts,’ says Baldwin’s club promoter character after the shirtless and sweaty superstar belts out Bon Jovi’s ‘Dead or Alive.’

Overall, the movie looks pretty fun. The actors are all hamming it up, and the rock of the bombastic ’80s was made to be played on a big screen.

So does the trailer leave you wanting to hear Cruise and company sing some more? And does it live up to the hit Broadway version? Find out when ‘Rock of Ages’ hits theaters June 15th.
