(SHELBY) – Rocky Boy basketball standout, Junior Day Child has plead guilty and has been sentenced for an incident that occurred at the Town Pump in Shelby this past Saturday night.

The 18-year old Senior plead guilty to Partner or Family Member Assault and was fined $1,085 and ordered to attend and complete anger management counseling.

According to the complaint from the Toole County Sheriff’s department, Day Child “grabbed his girlfriend by the head and shook her, causing her to strike her head against a window”, the report did not say what prompted the incident.

The Sheriff’s department responded to the scene after a citizen complaint and arrested Day Child shortly after 11PM on Saturday night.

He was released from the Toole County jail on Monday morning and was not available for Rocky Boy’s challenge game against Malta on Monday night, a game the Stars won, qualifying them for this weekend’s state tournament.

Rocky Boy was in Shelby and had lost to Choteau in the Northern B Divisional Championship earlier Saturday night.
