TIMBER! We're reading about the logging era over in Somers, Montana Tuesday evenings during Montana History up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. I'll be reporting for duty at 6 o'clock SHARP tonight (Tuesday) to read more of Henry Elwood's "Somers, Montana: The Company Town." It hasn't escaped me that the man's name is "El-WOOD" & he writes of wood. We're learning logging terms like "foggle knockers," "river-pigs," & "gopher man," not to mention all the tugboats on the Flathead back during the heyday of Sommers. Me? My only experience with tugboats comes from watching "The Adventures of Tugboat Annie" on television when I was a kid! Watch out for the foggle knockers & river-pigs & I'll see you at 6 o'clock SHARP for more Montana History at the Heritage. Ahoy, Mateys!
