(CUT BANK) – THE MONTANA HIGHWAY PATROL HAS RELEASED FURTHER INFORMATION

ON A SINGLE VEHICLE ACCIDENT THAT OCCURRED IN THE EARLY MORNING HOURS OF THURS.

JULY 18TH, SOUTH OF CUT BANK ON SECONDARY HWY 358.

THE VEHICLE WAS TRAVELING SOUTHBOUND WITH A MALE DRIVER AND A FEMALE

PASSENGER IN THE CAB OF THE PICKUP.   3 MALES WERE SITTING ON A HIDE-A-BED COUCH

IN THE BED OF THE PICKUP.

THE PATROL SAYS FOR UNKNOWN REASONS THE DRIVER LOST CONTROL STILL HEADING

SOUTH, BUT IN THE NORTHBOUND LANE.

THE VEHICLE WENT INTO A CLOCKWISE SPIN, THE DRIVER OVERCORRECTED AND WENT

INTO A COUNTER-CLOCKWISE SPIN AND INTO THE EAST BORROW PIT WHERE IT ROLLED

APPROXIMATELY 3 TIMES.    THE COUCH AND THE THREE OCCUPANTS WERE THROWN OUT

OF THE BED AND THE FEMALE PASSENGER WAS EJECTED THRU THE REAR WINDOW OF THE

PICKUP.

ONE OF THE FIVE REMAINS IN CRITICAL CONDITION IN A GREAT FALLS HOSPITAL.

THE HIGHWAY PATROL SAYS THE FACTORS LEADING TO THE CRASH ARE UNKNOWN

AT THIS TIME AND THE CRASH REMAINS UNDER INVESTIGATION.
