WEST GLACIER, MT.  – The Glacier National Park Conservancy, in partnership with Glacier National Park will host a public open house on March 13 at the Cedar Creek Lodge Grand Ballroom in Columbia Falls, MT from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm with Anderson Hallas Architects.

Anderson Hallas is the design and architecture firm that has been selected to lead the conceptual design effort for the Sperry Chalet, the Next 100 Years project. The chalet dormitory building was badly burned during the Sprague Fire on August 31, 2017.

Only the stone exterior wall remained standing after the historic Sperry Chalet was gutted by a wildfire on August 31, 2017. Structural engineers braced the walls in hopes the walls would withstand the pressure of heavy winter snowfall. (NPS Photo)

Anderson Hallas will introduce their firm, expertise and experience. They will lead an informative discussion about Sperry Chalet historic architecture, and site and project considerations they will take into account moving forward. The public will have an opportunity to talk with the conceptual design team, learn more about their design approach, and leave comments about four action concepts released in a scoping newsletter late last month. Finally, the architects will outline next steps in the conceptual design planning process.

The Glacier National Park Conservancy will host a Facebook Live event of the program.

Public comment is currently being sought on the proposed Sperry Chalet project. Read more about the project and and submit your comments HERE . The comment period will be open until April 2, 2018.
