The "Somers Brass Band" from Somers, Montana. They're were playing the tunes way back in 1910 in the book we're currently reading during Montana History up at the Marias Heritage Center here in Shelby. I'll be there ON TIME & "IN TIME" at 6 o'clock tonight (Tuesday) to read & share more of "Somers, Montana: The Company Town." Somers back in the day not only had a band, they had a bandstand right below the Catholic Church. Old George Eklund played in the band as did Charlie Smith. This is not only Montana History, it's Montana History at its best Tuesday nights at the Marias Heritage Center. What's your favorite big band tune? One of mine is "Close Cover Before Striking." See you this evening at 6 at the Heritage for more Montana History!
