The Crown of the Continent Geotourism Council, Montana Office of Tourism, and Montana Department of Environmental Quality invite all area businesses and organizations to attend a sustainable business workshop Monday, April 16 in Choteau, or Tuesday, April 17 in Browning. The workshop is free of charge to all participants. For details on the Uncommon Sense Business Leadership Program, click HERE. Both sessions are led by the Yellowstone Business Partnership's Sustainability Program Manager Heather Higinbotham, who oversees the UnCommon Sense Business Leadership Program. The workshops will introduce attendees to sustainable business practices aimed at improving the efficient use of resources, reducing waste, and improving purchasing practices. The workshop materials are taken from the Yellowstone Business Partnership's UnCommon Sense Program which uses education and peer-support to enable business owners and staff to complete 8 training modules focused on: • efficient use of resources (water, energy, transportation) • reducing waste • responsible purchasing • leadership development Since 2007, the program has had 30 graduates from the Greater Yellowstone Region (MT, WY & ID). Another 19 businesses and organizations are currently involved in the training and incorporating social and community investment into business operations.

The workshop will  be presented:

Monday, April 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m at the Choteau/Teton Public Library, 17 North Main, Choteau •

Tuesday, April 17th, 9:00 a.m. to noon at the Blackfeet Community College, 504 SE Boundary St. in Browning. Contact Dylan Boyle for specific room location.
