According to an article in the Washington Independent,

The U.S. House of Representatives voted Thursday to halt federal funding of National Public Radio by a largely partisan vote of 228-192. One House member voted ‘Present,’ and 12 did not vote.

I'm not at all sure how you feel about the federal funding of National Public Radio.  I'm not sure it is the best use of tax money that is getting harder to come by.  Aren't there things that are more important in the current economy?  What do you think?  Leave a comment!

This will most likely be completely moot any way, since the measure is expected to fail in the Senate.  I think it is somewhat heartening to see that maybe some of the folks in Washington are getting a message that perhaps they need to look more carefully at their spending habits.
