The Media Relations Manager for AMTRAK Government Affairs & Corporate Communications, Marc Magliari, is joining me this afternoon (Friday) at 4:30 on the Puffman Show. Just like I'm a "Real Radio Man", my friend Marc, is a "Real Railroad Man". Marc is no stranger to Shelby (he's been through here on AMTRAK numerous times!) & he's been on the Puffman Show several times. I'm looking forward to talking with Marc this afternoon when we'll be discussing the 5th Annual National Train Day as AMTRAK sponsors festivities at 97 AMTRAK stations across the country AND right here in Shelby at our Shelby AMTRAK station. As I mentioned earlier this week in one of my Puffman Blogs, it was back on May 10, 1869, that the famous "Golden Spike" was driven in Promontory, Utah, which marked the completion of the 1st transcontinental railroad in the United States & we've been "riding the rails" even since. Every time I talk with Marc & learn more about AMTRAK, I can't wait to go down to the Shelby station, purchase a ticket, & hop about our fabulous Empire Builder. There's nothing finer than dinner in the "Builder" diner! Marc's "home base" is the AMTRAK Chicago Union Station & if railroading isn't his life, I don't know what is. Looking forward to having Marc on the program this afternoon as we get ready to celebrate the 5th Annual Train Day tomorrow, Saturday, here on the Hi-Line. Welcome aboard Marc!
